API in pharma

Active pharmaceutical ingredients (API’s) are the substances in medicines, which give them their therapeutic properties. 

Process equipment for the API

APIs are produced in high value-added product batches, requiring corrosion resistant reactors, overhead condensers and pipework. 

Reactor vessel

API are produced in small high-value-added batches in a reaction vessel. Synthesis reactions may be produced in a severely corrosive environment requiring reactive metals reactors.

Overhead condensers

Mersen designs and manufactures condensers to specific customer process specifications, in compliance with international GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) regulations.
